Have you tried rocking back and forth, so the wheels have movement, and shifting at the same time. These trannys like to have the back wheels moving to shift reliably.

As I stated in the Post it's a 2000. I called Honda Canada and got them to run a recall check on the VIN. He told me there was a recall on the A-arm and then I asked him if there was anything on the tranny? He said there was a warranty update on it but would only be covered if the bike was under warranty, which it's not. I told him the problem I was having and told me to get the dealer to call him and he said he would see what he could do for me.

I know my friends Honda Rancher es 4x4 was recalled for a shift solenoid. Its a 2001 model he bought new. Yours should be under the same recall program I would think..Maybe they will help you out. I sure hope so. I know my dealers service dept is not up to par at all. I carried my Foreman back for a c.v.boot off in the first 10 hours i had it. After an unreal wait, I finally got it back when I told them I wanted a new atv, anyway, the boot was back off again in another 10 hours of riding..wasnt going to put myself through the dealer experience again, so I bought an cv boot clamp at advance and fixed it myself. So far , no more problems..IF i had a trans problem though, I surely would let the dealer handle it. Good luck and keep us posted.
