NEEDED: Your opinion on 400EX color schemes!!!
#1
I am about to start upgrading my 400EX. I am interested in getting my frame powder coated for better durability and to get rid of all those rusty places. I am also getting an axle and a arms. I would have got chromed arms but the are $100 extra so I guess I will just stick with the powder coating color of my choice. I am staying with the stock 2000 plastic (red and black) What I have been thinking is that I would get the frame Canary Yellow, to go with the decals but would it be too much yellow with the a arms yellow too? It seems to me that the arms and axle should look the same (chrome) but its too expensive that way so I need to go a different route. Anyway, Im asking YOU what color you would get the frame and a arms colored. I am going for appearance difference here too, well mostly to be honest. So bright and color ful is not out of the question. SO what do YOU think. Thank you so very much for your time and opinion.

I have seen many yellow framed 400exs and although they look awesome I would pick something different just to be different. What do you think about silvervein for the frame and a-arms? It's kind of a silver with black speckles in it and looks very nice on an R frame my friend has. Just an idea.

I'd go with red. Yellow will show the dirt, grease and oil. That hole isn't too easy to hit even with a funnel when fillin the oil up. When your greasin the quad up, i'd worry about getting it all over the frame. Think about chain lube and how it likes to splatter all over everything too. I'd prob. stay away from light colors. I seen a 400 with stock plastic, red frame, a-arms and swing arm with the fmf seat and graphics. Looked pretty cool. that's the route i'm goin this winter when the season is over.

Red doesnt appeal to me (in my head) although I havent seen a 400EX with a red frame. To me it just seems like too much red(with the fenders being red too). And although yellow may show more grease and dirt, there is a simple way to fix that. WASH IT. No big deal in my opinion. Thanks though.

Red.. I run Red A-arms and a Red Swingarm both RPM and i powder coated them myself... If you do woods/MX/Desert riding you do not need chrome.. All that would chip off underneith anyways. It looks awesome on a duner though.. Check out my Honda red at www.davesquadshop.com or http://208.2.174.133 until DNS updates..

I got silver rein A-arms and a lot of people comment them, i plan to get my frame the same. Plus chrome parts look great with it. Its pretty cheap to get a lot of your stock parts chrome dipped like steering colomn, pegs, levers all around and whatever else.

chromed dipped, or chrome plated? Or is it the same. You say it (chrome dipped is cheap) I have been told it is expensive to get stuff (chrome plated)There again, is there a difference between the two? How cheap is cheap? Thanks alot

I went to your site to get an idea of what silver vein powdercoated a arms look like but the photos dont show much detail of the arms. They look just plain silver or gray in the pics. Could you get a more detailed pic of them? Thanks alot
