Honda Foreman 450s vs. Yamaha Big Bear 4x4
#14
Kahoona: If you can get the 450s for the price of a Rancher or the close to the Big Bear, i would get the 450s. Maybe it won't beat the Rancher in every area, or the Big Bear. However it is a very good Quad in everyway. Besides don't forget, with a lift and larger tires(which this atv can handle) it is as good as any out there. That is my 2 cents worth. Good luck!!!!1

One thing to consider in your decesion.
Reliability.
There are all types of questions to ask, and everyone has their favoriate ATV, but almost EVERYONE agrees on the Honda reliability reputation. Barring abuse, with normal maintenance, it should outlast everything out there. The resale on Honda's is generally higher also, from what I have read.
I have a Rancher ES 4x4, only 240 miles or so, and no problems at all. I could have bought any ATV out there, regardless of price, but I loved the Rancher after riding it. I have friends with Honda 450's and they love my Rancher. One even stated that had the Rancher been available when he bought his 450, after riding my Rancher, he would have bought the Rancher. I'm not trying to push the Rancher on you, but I'm extreamly satisfied with mine. Goes where I have the nerve to go, is fast enough for me, (which is not a priority) and the fit and finish is just fine.
I looked at the Yamaha line as well as others, did extensive research on this forum and others, and the one thing that kept standing out was reliability.
Ride them all in the conditions you will be using it. Don't rush your decesion.... you will own it a long time. Utility ATV's are one area where Honda shines.
Good luck!
