250ex vs. 300ex
#1
What's the major difference besides the extra 50cc and manual clutch. It's about $1000 more in price. Is it worth the extra grand? My daughter has the 250ex and I want to get another one to ride along. Thanks for your help.

The 250ex is based off a recon wich is a utility, while the 300ex is a true sport bike. The 300ex isn't just a bumped up 50cc 250ex engine, they are completely different too. If I were you I would get the 300ex if you are buying for yourself, plus I like variety.

the 250ex is very easy to ride and is virtually maintence free because of the shaft drive but the 300ex has a chain as well as 3 disc brakes where the 250ex has 2 discs and a sealed drum in the back the 300ex is very easy to do simple tricks on and is easy to throw about in turn on in the air when jumping i would get the 300ex hands down

The 300 is a definite step up from the 250! It has real sport bike suspension (where the 250 shows its utility heritage sometimes). That's a big plus when you're out bashing big desert whoops. Like almost every bike, those stock tires are terrible (on both machines). For desert, replace them with ITP Holeshot XC's!
