300ex issues..

I have a 97 300ex.. about a year and a half ago i bored it out.. no problems.. then wanted more so i put a stroker crank in it.. it ran fine for a while.. one day it died and acted like the battery was dead and wouldn't even turn over.. i could pick the bike up and drop it or jiggle the cdi, reverse inhibitor wires around and it would fire back up.. it always had to be started in neutral.. and now i've having the same problems.. it hasn't run in over a year.. i'm getting pissed off and sick of putting money into it.. i've changed every box and wire on the outside from my neighbors running 98 300.. didn't work.. when i jump the solednoid.. it will crank over but doesn't get spark.. any suggestions?

i've tried it all.. battery is fresh and new.. changed the plug, plug wire, main harness, coil, cdi, rectifier, basically all electronics were off of a running quad.. and still got nothing when hitting start.. i'm clueless.. i've never heard of this problem .. and honda looked at it and is in awe as well..

you say that it would only start in nuetral when it did start? mine does the same thing cuz a yanked a wire from the clutch lever sensor so i could teach a friend how to get used to finding nuetral. if that sensor is shorting or if you nuetral sensor is shorting then its possible it allways thinks its in gear... just a possibility...

check the "neutral sensor" where it plugs in under your shifter ... make sure it's plugged in. If it's not you cant start it w/o having the clutch pulled in. and even then i'm not sure you can start it. and when you touch a screwdriver to the solenoid, does it just turn over... or does it start?
