1984 trx200

i owned one for a couple of years, it has a high and low range lever that you also use to put it in reverse. it is a light machine, but with a 2oo engine it is a bit under powered, you will find yourself using the high range low rangr often. while that is the down side the 200 was on of the best engines honda made. it is a tough machine that will last. you don't see many other brands from that era still running.

Very utility oriented. Couldn't turn it around on an airstrip. Tough as nails. Roll it down a hill and get back on it. The engine is very strong as far as reliability, but not the fastest 200 ever made by any means. I could outrun my friends on my 85 yamaha 200, but his was much better on hills. Very stable for quads of that time(84-87). I think it competes pretty good with the 220, with the exception that it is 16 years old. They only made it one year. In 85, they gave that body the 250 four stroke and took away the hi/lo.
In summary, it is a tough little quad that will take you anywhere any other 2wd will, but it doesn't compare to anything modern in any aspect other than its toughness.

The 1984 Trx200 is unbelievable. We have one that we use as a backup atv for friends who don't have one to ride. We have never had any problems with it. It has been abused, but it keeps on going.
However, it is an old machine. It was great back in the eighties, and I'm sure it will be running for years to come. But as some of the others have said it lacks in power and it does take a half of an acre to turn the thing around.
If you are looking for a good used ATV I'm sure you can find an old 300 Fourtrax out there for a good price. It will stay up with those Fancy-Smancy new ATVs and go through anything they do.
And if something ever goes wrong you can fix it yourself.
Have fun, Jay

LOL...Fourtrax your right, my trx 200 takes a whole acre to turn...my friends Big Bear can turn tighter than the 200.
The brakes are very poor on the 200's and chain tightening process is poor. Other than that it's a pretty good machine for trail riding.
When are you getting a 200 peltrax??
