This will be my first winter with my Rancher AT 4x4. How much snow can I expect to go through? Will chains help? I'm eagerly awaiting a big snow fall to test it out.

Thanks for any replies

I live in sterling heights, but i ride all over. we have about 80 acres in the northern thumb, but it gets boring riding in the same small area. I've been to st helens trails and the U.P. a couple of times. I hope we get a good blast of snow between christmas and new years. Where are you from and where do you ride? thanks for the reply.

littlebill said it exactly. i live in notre dame, manitoba, canada, its about 60 miles southwest of Winnipeg. i live on a farm and the cops really dont care where u ride, neither does anyone else. everyone out here has an atv, so no one goes ballistic over it. i ride anywhere and everywhere, but theres a valley nearby with a ton of trails crossing creeks and stuff. theres alot of mud when its not froze too.

I'm in the southeastern corner by lake erie and ohio. I ride all the trails n tracks around here. My favorite place to ride is silver lake sand dunes. Great time, have u been there? If you havn't, you gotta its a blast there.

I have riden in snow several times and I can tell you on my TRX 300 4X4 with a 26" Big Foot Kit I can move in about 16" - 18" of snow. Any deeper than that and it just packs under the belly and you loose traction and momentum. It also depends on whether the snow is a dry powder snow or a wet slushy snow. It will amaze you at what it will go through. You may need to rock the thing from side to side to keep moving if it starts to get to deep but you will have an absolute blast riding in the snow!
