400ex backfire

Default 400ex backfire
why does my 400ex backfire when i first start it up when its cold it does for a lil bit but hten when its warm its fine and my friends 400ex doesnt do it why does mine

my rappy backfires when i rev it when it first starts up, then it goes away.

nosliw - right now on it i got a white bros e series pipe and uni airfilter but i have 440 kit, hotcam stage 2, rev box and a sproket kit coming

86LT250RFatty - yeah thats what mine does to

i dunno i bought it from the dealer like that it was used but the dealer said they did that

Default 400ex backfire
there is a small brass colored screw on teh bottom of the carb. it will be hard to see because it is behind the idle adjustment. if you turn that out 1/4 of a turn, that may help the problem.

sandman99ex does the HMF slip on add power and produces a good sound? Just wondering im getting a 400EX and I wanted that pipe.

if it goes away when its warm i would say its fine, my rappy does same thing. Pull the plug and see what color it is. Mine is tan.
