Honda big bore sport quad
#1
I hope that one day Honda produces a big bore sport quad(600+cc). I love the power of my Craycraft 686 powerd Raptor but I have owned nothing but Hondas (since 1980) untill I bought the Raptor. I do like the new 450r rides GREAT and if it is like any other Honda it should last forever. But even with the HRC stuff they just have not really impressed me that muchin the power department. I have ridden some very fast alcohol 440 and 505 ex hondas but they are not for all day riding. I still believe my old 350x could hang (it was also heavily modified).I would be first in line to get a new big bore Honda if they ever do it.
I still have my 250r (not for sale ever)

Bombardier really broke the large cc barrier in 2000, and the Raptor followed. The Polaris 500 is now in there too as well as the Kawasaki's KFX 700. It would seem that Honda is the only one left to make a move.

Honda has sat on that fine XR650 engine so long, I have given up any hope of ever seeing it in a quad. I think Honda has a different agenda. I think they are going with the light, 450R type machines for the future. Lots of evidence of this trend in the dirt bike line! This may in fact be a good move, but it will take us old-school consumers a little time to catch on.
