Default Flipping 400ex rims?

can you flip the frount rims on the 400ex for more width? i know you might hit the valve stems, so i need flush mount ones. i only want to do this temporarly untill i get +2 arms, and a +4 axle.

bump steer might be a problem, but i feel my ex is somewat tippy in tight grassy corners, and i have alot of suspension roll even on the stiffest settings. i know on my friends blaster flipping the rims made all the difference in the world, and he got no bump steer, mainly due to the stoneage rock hard terrible suspension.

has any one done this, or is it not worth it? i was hoping it is.

also can i replace valve stems myself, or do i have to bring it to the shop?

Yes, you can flip the rims. Bumpsteer will be there but not too bad. I never have noticed any wear and tear problems, but I replace my wheel bearings once a year.

If it were me, I would just try to use more body english and save money up for some aftermarket shocks. It isn't always about width....It's sometimes about how the suspension reacts to small bumps while cornering(as far as the "tippy" feeling).

its not shocks, which are going to be replaced with axis, quad rates, and +2 arms, and +4 axle, i want a temporary winter thing.

the thing just isnt wide enough, now my next question will the valve stems hit?

The stems hit. Flush mounts will prolly still hit.

Go to the local tire shop with one of your valve stems. Buy 4 new ones. Put 2 back in the original holes backwards, cap in the wheel. On the "new" out side edge of the wheel, drill a 3/8 hole in the wheel. Put the stems in those holes, normal, and that will be your new stems.
