Some kid told me that Honda is making a 700cc ATV for the year 2002...Is that possible??...maybe he's thinking of the Polaris 700cc ATV that's suppose to be coming out in 2001.

Doubtful, Honda has a very strict limitation that they would not build a quad over 600 pounds. A 700cc would break this limit.

Maybe it's 600 without fuel, oil or coolant. Honda's claimed dry weight is 600. I can't prove or disprove their specs. I would add no more than 30 or 40 pounds total.

Gas weighs 6.17 pounds per gallon at 60F. For S and G's use 6.5 pounds. 3.7 X 6.5 =24.05 pounds

Well this kid said they are making a 700cc ATV for sure in 2002...I said no they can't be, Honda would never make a quad that big(maybe a racer but not Utility)...he must have been drinking before he told me this...LOL

It would not be hard to make a 700cc machine weigh in at less then 600lbs. Look at the Raptor 660 and the DS650. Both are under 500lbs. Another 50 0r 40 cc's would not gain you an extra 100+ pounds.
Of course, this is on a sport/high performance quad. A utility would definitly be more then 600lbs.

Well I normally don't get involved in hearsay but in this case I will make an exception. I live about 25 miles from the S.C. plant. I have many friends who work there. My best friend is an employee there and he has told me of several "concept" machines that they have had a hand in building(he is a very expirienced welder and fabricater). First he has said nothing of a 700cc machine but that doesn't mean it doesn't exsist. He has however told me of a 600(roughly)cc engine that they have fitted into both a 4x4 foreman type frame as well as a 6wheel machine. Both machines were in the R&D stage when he worked with them.
Also for you sport guys a low emmissions 2-stroke had been in the works in a EX style chassis however it has been shelved according to him. Understand this is all second hand information on "Concept"type machines so don't run out and announce that a new Quad is coming. All manufacturers build these type of machines just to test them out and see what type of feedback they get.

Kagey is pretty deep "underground", but he is always there when you need him to surface.

It's a little known fact that smartest animal is a pig. Scientists say if pigs had thumbs and a language, they could be trained to do simple manual labor. They give you 20-30 years of loyal service and then at their retirement dinner you can eat them.
