TRX200 muffler help.
#1
Hello, my father in laws trusty 95 TRX 200 "type 2" has blown out the muffler. If it werent used every day on a farm, it would be OK loud, but it scares the animals now. I was wondering where is the best place to get a muffler to replace this one and what other bikes I could get one off of. Thanks for any help in this.

HOT DAMN, Someone else out there has one of these little guys.
Unfortunately, ours has just recently rusted out, too. It is very loud and annoying.
I've seen mufflers in Dennis Kirk, but they are performance which means they will be loud. You will either have to buy a new one from Honda or go to a Auto Parts store and see if they can get something close.
Let me know what you do.

This little four wheeler refuses to die, despite our best efforts to kill it. It must have a zillion miles on it. It now sports some 11 inch wide rear meats that just barely rubbed a spot on the muffler, that didnt help its rust problem. Why dont all ATV's have a trunk like this one too?
back to the muffler, there is a guy locally who builds mufflers from scratch for ATV's. They are heavy guage stuff and dont look too bad. He gets in the neighborhood of 75 bucks for one so I might go that route, or I found a few on Ebay I could rig up possibly. I will post back what we end up doing.

No doubt, We also put on 11" wide tires and the side nippples rubbed the paint off and helped it rust.
I absolutely love the trunk. On occasions, ours has been found loaded down with beer and ice.
That custom muffler doesn't sound bad for $75. I think I can live with it for a while yet, though.

What are you running for front tires? This one has some super cheapo block tread dealies that really stink. If you goose it while turning on anything other than firm dry ground it will push something fierce. Ive hit a tree or two with it in the woods. Also have to straighten out the back brakes, they only work with the foot pedal and lock right up when you tap it.

We actually still have the original front tires on it yet. They have fairley decent tread. I would like to get a little wider front tire so that the tire sticks out past the wheel. We have a little ding on one of the front wheels.
The back brakes are a little touchy on ours, too. You have to watch it.
