300ex at the dunes
#3
Sand robs a lot of power, so anything you can do to increase your power will really help. Open up the airbox, get a UNI air filter, a better flowing muffler, and that 300EX header is totally patheric! And of course a rejet.
If you get sand tires, get something LIGHT. I ran 6-paddle Skat-Trak Edges back in the day. A lot of the new molded sand tires are way heavy for the little EX. If you don't get sand tires, you can run your stock tires at low pressure, and they will do pretty well.

wassup bob, for a 300ex there's lots ya can do to them for the dunes, all i ride is dunes, mainly glamis and dumont, and pismo in the summer, i had the swingarm lengthend 3" which helps alot, i got a set of 250r a arms, raptor front shocks, and fabbed a custom upper shock mount, removed the airbox and rejetted the carb, a custom exhaust, the stock one sucks, relocated lights, new handlebars, dumped the handlebar plastic mess, twist throttle, gearing is 13-36 with 20" 8 paddle haulers, custom oil cooler, removed the rubber flaps under the plastic in front, nerfs, a sticker kit, i dunno, this is my girlfriends quad and it moves and handles pretty well with all these mods, and will get her up 70% of the hills at glamis, everything at pismo and most at dumont, oh check out the pics onmy page........ lates, josh...
