Movin on up, need some help
#1
I have a 250ex with some mods and all i can say is too slow. I want to move on up to a larger quad. I am 5' 5" 115 pounds and I dont know what to do. I was thinking about a blaster for more speed, but they are really small. I was also thinking about a 400ex, but may be too big. what should i do?

Blaster's may be small but modded they will run with alot of quads out there, they are a sweet quad with some ballz behind it, and a 400ex is not really that big, they are a medium sized sport quad and have nice bottom end power and midrange, not a whole lot on top, cause most of the time the rev limiter restricts it, 400ex's are decent fast quads and for only being 115 pounds and going up from a 250ex, i might even suggest a 300ex, it's really the only one up above the 250ex, unless you get the older 250X and it will still run circles around the 250ex, a 2 stroke might be a little crazy for a 1st time 2 stroke sport rider, the powerband on 2 strokes is noticeable compared to the so called powerband of a 4 stroke, i'd go with a 300ex most likely cause of it being the next step up from the 250ex, and the 400ex's will pull wheelies easily, they are about the lightest front end quad i've ever rode, the nose will pop right up. My suggestion would be a 300ex, they are more "domesticated" than a Blaster or a 400ex, but if you don't consider the 300 then i would say the Blaster, but again i say a Blaster is a very quick machine for an old 200cc bike engine, top end is only around 58mph stock, but getting there is quick, Blaster's accelerate extremely quick through the bottom all the way to the top
Blaster or 300ex, I would stay away from the beastly 400's yet, but that's just my opinion,
have fun choosing

Go with the 400 ex. The blaster is a nice machine but unless you buy a brand new one they have crappy brakes and none of them have good suspension. They can be hopped up though, I've seen some fast ones. I'm guessing you're young because of your weight, but a 400ex is an easy bike to ride and the front end isn't that light. Hell I'm a big guy and have a hard time carrying a wheelie too far. Just start out slow on the 400 and you'll get the feel of it and plus it's about the most reliable bulletproof bike you can buy. And it has electric start, the blaster doesn't.

Thanks guys. by the way my bro has a 400ex with a white brothers slip on and a k&n. I really like it and he is selling it. The only problem is he wont let me buy it. He says its "to fast" for me. Blasters are nice but mixing fuel and kick start is just a big hassle. I rode a 300ex and i just thought they were too big. Not extremely big but they are just a little too big. And i do like my friends Z400 but he has had a few problems with it. Feel Free to give me more advise people!
