Default Getting a New ATV!

I'm getting a new ATV soon. I want to get something for trail riding and the occasional racing. I like jumping and wheelying and etc. I am looking at the Suzuki Z-400 and the Honda 400EX, 2005 models. A good supply of aftermarket supplies is a plus. Any help in making the decision or additional info will help.

it matters what kind of "ocasional racing" you will be doing if it is cross country racing i would take the 400ex but if you will be doing mx you will probably need the "z" because of the power.

I will be racing in the area of NE Pennsylvania. Mostly wooded areas with tight trails but there are a few places that open up.

I think a 400EX is a great choice. You can get one cheap and there are parts everywhere.

Iwannride2 has hit the nail on the head. From talkin to z400 and 400ex owners more people complain about the z being top heavy. But both are great for jumping etc. I guess its really up to you what u think would be more of the type of riding u will be doing. and bigballer LOL banshees dont make good mx quads. Its rare to see them there.

Not dissing the 400ex at all, but the Z is a better overall machine. Handles better, much more power(almost 10hp more) and Liquid cooled. i would get the Z400, but the 400ex is a good choice too. the Z400 is much more aggressive though, expecialy the 2005 Z400's, which are quicker then the 04's, they got a bigger carb and new cams and suspension.

A Z being top heavy?? That's a new one. The Z is probably the best all around quad on the market today. Will do just about everything well. Excellent trail quad!!!

i'd get a 400ex, yes they might be slower in stock trim, but the aftermarket parts for a 400ex is pretty much endless, there is everything you could want out there for a 400ex, the Z400 is a nice quad too, Honda needs to pull their heads out of each other's a**** and update the 400 besides copying the 450R design plastic and putting reverse in it, so the 400ex would be more competitive against a stock Z400.

Big Baller, yeah a banshee has more mods than any quad out there, but those mods aren't going to change it to be a MX racer, a Banshee is a dune and drag quad possibly a TT machine, but they suck as MX and GNCC quads
