I got a jet kit and I wanted to find out is the main jet both pieces that screw out or is it just the first one. If its just the first one does the stock main jet screw into the pilot jet.

Thanks

When you take the bowl off the carb, there is a removable plastic bell around the main jet. The main jet ( with slotted head for a screwdriver ) unscrews from the needle jet. The pilot jet is next to the main jet, also slotted for screwdriver removal, but much smaller diameter than the main jet.

Yeah I think I got it I just wanted to make sure that I only unscrew the first brass part of the main jet and then put the new adapter with the new jet in. I hope that makes sense.

Yes you are right. He was prolly thinking the 300ex has a mikuni carb like whatever he has worked on.

Sorry, my bad..... So throw me in a dumpster !!

See, you gotta understand.... I work for a large Honda dealer, I work on more units in a month than most of you see in a year or 2. Today alone I cleaned a Rancher carb, 2 TRX400FW carbs and one TRX300EX carb plus a lot of other maintance repairs. I went in at 7:30 this morning and left at 8:15 tonight.
ALL THE CARBS I DID TODAY HAVE SLOTTED MAIN JETS EXCEPT THE 300EX ( when I opened the bowl, I realized what I had typed the night before )

I have been with HONDA since 1986, and make a little error on a shape of a jet and I get DISSED. Geez, thats the thanks I get, DAAAAA

AND YES I have been working on Mikkuni carbs this weekend I set up a rack of them for a XJR1250 Yamaha, 2 carbs on a 800 Arctic Cat, and syncronized a set on a XVZ1200, at home in my garage.

what ever
