i just changed the oil in my 250ex. ive done it before but i wanted to be preice and so i read the manual and it said put 1.7 quarts which is i think about 52 or 53 ounces so i put that mych in there and i checkedthe dip sytick and the oil is half way up the dip stick.. so i no i need to take oil out but have any yall had this problem and if u have what did u do? oh yeah sry bout th post IM i was tryint o put the title on this and accidently hit eneter.

 

Start the unit, let it idle for a bit, then turn it off and recheck the oil level

Also when you check the oil on a Honda don't screw the dipstick in just install the oil and place the stick in till it stops then check it

you mean like just stick the dipstick in the hole and not screw it in.

 

I always take the bike for a short ride to be sure the oil is distributed throughout the transmission, before I check the oil level.
