im almost 15 and im 5'7 210 and ive been ridin a 250 honda recon for about 6 years, i ride it a bout an hour everyday after school, and it still runs pretty good (but not much power) but it will go anywhere i want it to, but next year when i get a job im gonna get a sport fourwheeler, ive never driven a sport one before but i want a 400ex because i dont wanna spend all my time working on it and i want something i can ride all the time,but am i gonna be really surprised by the power difference and torque?i live in the county and all i do mostly is trail riding, some mudding and creek riding, and on the road sometimes, and i aware they dont have reverse but how much would i beable to find a good 03 or 04 for? Right now i only have about $750.

Compared to the Recon it'll have a ton of power. For a good 03 or 04 you'll have to pay around $4000 at least.

 

You can do a search on this quad and find out almost anything you want to know about the 400EX. I would not let working on the quad be a deciding factor in your choice, because that is a big part of this sport and can be lots of fun. The 400EX is a very reliable quad. I have owned mine for 3 years now, but still I have had to do some things to it. The price is going to vary a lot depending on what kind of mods have been done. But I would have to say a stock used 400EX would cost you around $2000 to $4000. You may be able to find one cheaper but it might need some work.

yeah, for the past 2 weeks all ive been doing pretty much is looking up stuff about the 400ex and reading alot about it in the forums and everything, so i know alot about it and i think its the right choice, plus i would only get a honda
