okay. heres the story. the only reason a YZ426 makes 50 hp is because Yamaha actually works to make their bikes perform as to where they just threw a street bike motor in a ****ty chassis and gave it a name. Im not bashing Yamaha mainly because honda, suzuki and kawi all do the same thing. You guys might as well face it, the dirtbikes come first, quads maybe 2nd or 3rd.

This post is making very little sense at all, first none or very few of you have a Raptor or have Ridden a Raptor, Secondly I really doubt that any of you 400 EX riders went to the track and dominated the first week you got it, Third No one has had a Raptor longer than 18 days, and most have only had them for 14 days or less so how can they just hop on and become a Master rider, All I have to say is as of now yes due to the number of 400ex's on tracks they are going to win more times. Alot of REAL racers arent even going to consider racing whether its a new laeger framed 250R or a stock raptor until they have had some considerable practice time on that particular quad. You people should not try to **** everyone off who buys a raptor because look at it, modified they have more travel(11.5"), and width than a modified +2 250R(10.55"), with modified engines they will have more HP, and stock they are still a more powerful machine than you ride stock, I dont care if you can get 30 more HP from your 400EX modified, stock your still down by 10+hp to start with. For your guys sake And So I dont have to be pissed off at your guys comments from now until eternity I hope they make you that D@mn 650Ex soon, and I hope it comes stock with 75HP and 14" of shock travel, It runs atleast 90 mph, has a rev limited reverse, 10 gallon gas tank, fuel injected, carbon fibered framed, and weighs only 200LBs.

Sorry buddy, not in my neighborhood. a banshee can't stay with me in the woods or on the track. He can beat the **** out of me in a drag race yeah, but that's 2 to 1..... I win. :-)

At least i know i will be roosting all over a Raptor, Thats because my friends dad is getting one and he is not a fast rider. When his son Jon gets on it then i cant wait to see how it does in the woods and over woops. Hey I'll have fun riding with it. I am really shocked to hear that the DS is spanking it in drag races, That must really **** off the Yamaha boys. This quad was supposed to kill everything.

Well, the post was talking about drag racing, not track and woods riding. Speaking of woods I ride with a few CR250's, YZ125, CR125, and I have no problem keeping up with them in the woods. It all depends on the rider. When I first got my Banshee I raced a 400EX up a sand hill, and lost, so I guess that means all 400EX's are faster in the sand than Banshee's. Some how I don't think so.

Sheesh Chris,

Is this what having a Raptor does to a person?

Time to step back from the keyboard, look into the mirror and see the egotistical a-hole you are being lately (last day or two). If you plan on continuing to post in this manner go ahead and just stay in the Yamaha forum where at least most of the guys will agree with you.

Maybe try some decaf...

ps... and yes, for the record, I know of a few 400EX riders that went out and won races on their first week(s) of ownership. That's what inspired a very close friend to buy his within the first week of availability & ultimately caused me to purchase mine when neither of us was in a market for a new machine.

I personally don't give a flying dead rats *** what Yamaha builds! They never have and they never will build a machine that handles as well as the 250R did over 10 years ago. So, if Yamaha wants to just stuff horsepower into a frame and send it out, go ahead. My R is 14 years old, no cracks in the frame, never bent an axle, I still have my factory original wheels and they still hold air! Hmmmmmmm. What's that telling you?
