just bought wife a left over 04 rubicon, not a real positive experience from the word go due to the dealership i dealt with (my fault) anyway just returned from work this morning and noticed it sitting in my shop while something looked funny one wheel was toed in or toed out depending on your vantage point after further inspection the alingment is out of adjustment by over 2 inches. Just curious if i take this to my nearest honda dealership should they take care of it or do i need to take it to the dealership i purchased it from? by the way i can't see how they can say it was abuse account the machine has 0 miles and only .06 hours on it just backed it in she's been sitting every since. that's another thing that irks me they charged me $175.00 custom assembly fee and $160.00 vehicle controls calibration and prep best $335.00 i've ever spent huh?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

 

The Honda's do come toed out. It's a matter of how toed out it really is? My Foreman 450 calls for 1&3/8" +/- 9/16" toe out. When I checked my Foreman it was toed out about 3/4".

I'm not sure if your Rubi would call for the same toe out. If it's not within the limit it calls for then ask them to correct it.

 

By the way, you should have refused to pay the $335. Live and learn.

 

this is highly visible 1&3\8 should by no means be as detectible as this is when one wheel is squared the other is at least 3 3\4 out yeah simple fix but why should i do it?

 

Hello wrastlinfan. If it was my quad, I would adjust it myself. If they didn't do it right the first time, I would not trust them a second time.

Just don't break anything or touch anything that might be broken. The dealers look for signs that a buyer has messed around with a quad. Which may have caused something to break. They can look for finger smudges. They can also check to see if the paint that was dabbed on the end of bolt heads has been wiped off by a tool.

If it is really toed out too much. I'd contact Honda and ask if you could take it to a dealership close to you to be corrected. Tell them you don't want to take it back 150 miles or that you just don't trust the other dealership after they screwed you so bad. Make the point that you would like it corrected under warranty. The other dealership will have to look at it to determine if there is a problem and if you might have caused the problem. There is always a chance that they might say that it's not covered by warranty.
