oil question

Default oil question

hey i have been running regular oil in my 02 400ex and i have been told by coulpe guys i know to runn synthetic , but it in one ear and out the other but really i have been thinkin and i was gonna consider it but wut kind, wut weight , should i run all synthetic ?? so if u could give me a little input it would be great!!

you can keep on running a good atv or motorcycle oil. honda, kawaski,maxima,belray are all good. just keep them changed often

if you run your motor hard and hot all the time then you can go to a synthetic. just stay away from car oil. they dont have the additives in them for the wet clutch and trasmission. you can leave synthetics in a little longer because the protec better. just dont use them right after you rebuild your topend. give it some break in time before switching.

I run Honda HP4 (without moly) in the 400EX, which is a synth blend (combines the lubricity of dino oil with the durability of synth). If I were to run full synth, it would be Maxima Ultra or maybe Royal Purple. Synth oils are expensive, so just expect to pay more!
