I haven't given the prices much thought lately. I've seen a couple topics started about the 400ex's price. I knew that the 2004 without reverse had a retail of $5299. Then I knew that Honda raised it after they added reverse.

Recently, I read the article in DW about the Z400 and 400ex. They stated that the retail price for both quads is $5799. That's what I thought they both cost. Then I went to Honda's site and the 2005 400ex is listed at $5899. Huh? Is this correct? I think Honda is losing their marbles. The 400ex is a good quad but come on. The Z400 has so much going for it and it cost less.

 

Honda holds there retail price fairly high but they seem to give the dealers room to discount. For instance I was looking at new 2005 450R's yesterday and had the dealer down to $5800 out the door, I ended out not buying it though.. I just like my 416EX to much.

 

I just saw another article stating that the 2005 retail price is $5799. Did Honda just recently bump the retail price up $100.? Or has it always been that much and all the articles are wrong? Or is the Honda site wrong?

 

At my local dealer they retail for 5699$
