Does $475 for axle bearings and labor sound outrageous to anyone? Thats what the estimate was at my local honda shop for my 400ex. Anyone ever had their's done by a honda shop. Comments/advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
That is way to much. It would probley take them a half hour to do it. Bearings and seals are only $50 if you get them from an atv part shop or you can get them cheaper from a bearing store.
Thats sounds right as long as you get a brand new axle and bearing carrier. I would stick to my code of never ,ever ,ever take anything to a dealer unless its under warranty. Do it yourself and spend $30.
I'll do it for $225 including the seals and bearings. Seriously, that is way too much. 2 hours labor is plenty of time so figure $60/hr = $120 labor plus $40 for parts + Total $160 max.
Well... got everything all tore apart, just waiting for the new bearings to get here. Thanks for all the replies, I am VERY glad I didn't pay to have it done!
