Should I race it

Default Should I race it

I have a 1996 300ex all stock but I want to race it and dont really have the money for a new one right now I am wondering what are the important things to do in order to make a 300ex a fast one out there

On a dragstrip? Don't waste your time.

In a woods coarse? Get what it takes to enter; nerfs, number plates, kill cord, etc, etc.

You could probably be pretty competitive in the woods on one. For motocross or drag racing it would just be easier and cheaper to buy a new bike, in my opinion.

I got mine setup for cross country racing if you want to take my mods. (This is my way of setting it up, other peoples may be different along with the way you want yours set up, Just tryin to be helpful)

Yea I know im going to get a new exhaust, a new air filter, and some nerf bars.

What type of racing are you planning on doing? At Virginia Sports Park they have a "Blaster class" basically any Atv's 300cc or below....300ex, Mojave, and Blaster...of course no 250R's lol but yeah in that class last year a 300ex won the championship only mods were just a HMF exhaust, jet kit, and filter. Bottom line is go out and race and have fun the 300ex is a great bike to get you started into racing...then after your skills improve move on up to the bigger CC bikes.

Alright thanks I live in Michigan not sure if they have classes like that, but I am racing it for fun atleast.
