Rancher horse power?

OK Rancher owners where are you?
I am considering purchasing a new Rancher, but I have one concern. Here in eastern NC, our riding is mainly on trails through swampy areas which are unable to be developed. With that in mind, ground clearance and tires are the two most important necessities. (excluding driver ability) The last couple of times I have rode, two Yamaha Big Bears stole the show. And being a life long Honda man, this was disturbing. They went through stuff the others could not. I must mention the Big Bears both had 27 inch vampires and lift kits. All the other ATVs where stock. ('00 450S, '00 KawaPraire 400, '90 TRX300FW, etc. but no Ranchers)
What I want to know is, if I get a Rancher and put after market tires on it, will I be able to put the Yamahas back in their places?
I must mention that the last Big Bear I rode with did go through stuff the others could not. However, It was making an awful noise most of the day which sounded like it was coming from the front of the ATV. I need to have some help from you Rancher owners on this one!
