1986 Honda TRX 350 start cold electrical problem
#1
My honda 350 has a weird problem. It starts with no problem when it is hot with electric start but try to start it up when cold and no go just floods. The electric starter cranks over till battery dies and no go.Asked a local Honda mechanic and he said to try the kickstarter instead of the electric start when cold and sure enough it started. He said something about coil or something and not getting enough spark on cold start.Anyone have any idea what this could be or what electrical tests to try. Thanks

alli can think of is the starter is taking so much power to turn the bike over, its not leaving enough voltage or amperage for the coil to fire, thats prolly it works when u kick start, trying connecting it to a another battery when starting cold and see if it will fix it, so use 2 battery's or jump start it off another car or quad

Thanks for the reply but i tried that and no go/It turns over superfast but does the same thing.Last night i tried taking the plug out to check the difference in spark from turning over with the electric start or the kickstart and i couldn't really see any difference. Both had equal spark
