St. Joe Park in Park Hills MO....it is by Farmington....awesome park....about 2000 total acres....800 acres of sand dunes and mud pools and about 12 acres of wooded trails...$3 a day and you must have a helmet and a flag...they sell both.

Default HAVE YOU RIDDEN A RANCHER 400AT?

A topic i havent seen in my search but has anyone here upsized their tires on the AT? and what sizes plse. I want mudlite in 26 but none available in rear 11 inch but can the rim be changed to 12 with 26 on them?

Yoda, do you think i will need a lift kit for the 26 tires if i have the perfex suspension installed?

Thanks guys, i appreciate your discussions on the AT. now i am feeling more confident in my decision about my purchase of the AT!

Brian

QuickHonda,

YOu cannot have both a lift and the perfex system. One or the other. Many people have said in diff. forums to go no larger than 25's on the AT. Mudlites I believe come in 25's for an 11" rim. 26's do not.
Do a search in here for the AT and you will find several past topics regarding this subject. Also, remember there are other forums to read on the net. I have read a lot about the AT on other forums.

Just fixing to order a set of 25inch mudlites and the maxxis 12 spoke wheels for my girlfriend right now. If it were mine I would go with the 26inch like on my Foreman with the big lugs, but she prefers the smaller tire look. I am upgrading her just one inch in height to the 25inch but I am sure it would handle the 26's no problem. atvoutfitters has the best prices I have found anywhere.

Try Hondapartsworld.com. They had mudlites on sale. The cheapest I found on the net.

I'd stay away from the perfex kit, but thats just my opinion. It let's your wheels drop out too much. Someone on this forum had a problem with a CV at 1700 miles by overextending the axle. I figured something like that was likely after mounting it.

I bought one and took it off, disappointed, after one ride. I could get technical, but it just didn't sit right.

Back to the AT, very nice, lighter and 2WD makes it sportier than my Rubicon, still has the great tranny.

Oh, and ECM = engine control module, CDI = Capacitor Discharge Ignition or Controlled Demolition Incorporated or something like that. Don't know much about the Rancher's needs, but Yoda said his 03 needed new software? and later ones should already have it. Someone on here should know the details or your dealer should know.

Mine is an 04 bought in August of 03. If you have a new AT, you don't need it. If you bought a AT in the first few months Honda will send you a letter stating that your bike needs to be checked by your dealer. They will then replace the parts.
Propnut,
You are the first person I have read who does not like it. What does "Let's your wheels drop out to much " mean? I've never heard that statement before.
