jump

me and my friends just started building a jump today. We used rocks then piled dirt on that and made it into a ramp. it still needs some work. I was just wondering if any one here knew how to make the jump better and how long we should wait til we go off it. It is about 2 feet tall and 2 1/2 feet long

Try just riding over it. See what happens at slow speed. If it holds up, go a little faster. Try wetting down the dirt, add more dirt, wet it down, etc. until you get a strong ramp.
Now, tell me, where you can ride in Beverly Hills? Certainly not down Rodeo Drive?! I just gotta know, cause I've never seen anyplace there that you can ride.

I'M IN MIDDLE OF BUILDING A 2 1/2 ACRE TRACK. IF ANYBODY HAS SOME CONFIGURATIONS FOR STEP UPS AND TABLE TOPS. NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE THIS HARD TO BUILD A GOOD TRACK. IF YOU HAVE ANY GOOD IDEAS GIVE ME HEIGHT X WIDTH X LENGTH. WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

when building jumps you don't get calculations. you just gotta guess. then if you come up short when you jump it you just gotta go faster

I understand that you have to tweak things alittle. But when designing a track you need to have a general consensus of what your going to do with each section of track. So what I'm doing is asking all my friends and fellow riders what is funnest, fastest, scariest and outright best jumps, turns, whoops, step-ups etc... I know there isn't exact dimensions but if I get some rough dimensions I can put the track together using these rough calculations and then it would be not only challenging but then I would know that these setups actually work and are fun or challenging. That way instead of putting all my time and money into a track that sucks. This way I won't have to start from scratch. I know I'll have to tweak it a bit but not as much as I would if I just started plowing dirt and dumping clay here and there. I would appreciate it. Even if you know of any tracks that are pretty awesome let me know.

Best thing to do is scrape one up, try it and keep tweaking it until you get what you want. I scraped up a table in my back yard. It was about 7 feet at take off and 30-40 feet long. I would hit it, fly past the landing, then go back and make it longer. I kept doing that until it was comfortable. It was the most awesome jump I have been on. But I had to level it to back-fill around my new house

I am putting in a whoop section in on my track. I was wandering if any of you had any ideas on what a good comfortable amount of space would be between the peak of each whoop and how high I should make them. Thanks. This just needs to be a general idea. I can and will twik it later.
