umm it should be faster than the recon....it has a higher compression ratio and is lighter.....I'm sure it will be just like every other honda and handle really good....it will be a bullet proof quad for sure.....

I'm still not sure (why) yet. People that want a sport that size should buy the 300ex. I have a 400ex and a Lakota for my wife, but the Lakota probably runs faster and has more power. They call it a 250 but it is a 230 actually. Of all the wheelers I can think of they must be trying to take the Lakota buyers or wolverine I think.

But the great thing is Honda is putting out more rides, all the better for us ridders. My two cents. Later

The key differences between the new 250ex and the 300ex: The new 250ex has
1. semi-automatic trans (auto-clutch)
2. shaft drive
3. easy to operate reverse

Its looks like its aimed at first time sport riders - great for families, or even someone coming off of a utility ATV.

The Recon is light sporty and fun. Take that engine, add a little more power, put it in a sportier package with a better suspension and brakes, and chop off 50 pounds. It ought to be a great machine. I had ridden for years when I got my Recon and I was never dissappointed with it. I predict the 250EX will be a wonderful, low maintenance, easy to ride machine.
