I am planning on buying a 2005 rubicon when i sell my rincon. Should I get the rubicon with gps? Is it a big help when you are riding? Is it worth the extra money?

 

If it were me, I'd save the extra money that would be spent on the GPS and buy a handheld GPS. I have a Garmin eTrex Legend and love it. Just my $0.02

 

How much do the handheld units cost?

The question is why are you getting rid of a rincon to get a rubicon?

 

I don't like the transmission in the rincon. It is not geared low enough. Maybe if it had a low range then i would keep it. I live on a farm and use to pull wagons. Since it is idependent suspension it does not pull well. The rubicon would be a lot better.

 

Save your money and buy a garmin. You can get a handlebar mount and it will work just as good. Plus you can take it hiking if you ever stop your quad.

they also sell a device that connects to your handlebars and actually holds your handheld using a couple of rubber snubbers. I saw one fo these at basspro for $20. i am sure they sell them at other places as well.

 

I have a Garmin ETrex and a RAM mount. The RAM mount is the finest one made that I've seen. The GPS doesn't move regardless of the terrain.
