Default cam for stock 400ex

i have a bone stock 400ex and am looking to upgrade it. i am wondering what stage cam to get 1 or 2. i also need to know where the best place to get it is. i have also been told that a rev box and curtis sparks exhaust kit is the best way to go is this true? thanks in advance

I'd go with a Stage 1 on a stock motor. I think the Curtis Sparks X6 and rev box with a Stage 2 is better suited for a bigger bore, higher compression piston. With a Stage 1 your ok with just a slip-on and theres no need for a rev box. I got my Hotcams Stage 1 at Magic Racing for a buck and a quarter.

A Stage I or Stage II Hotcam will both work witha stock motor that has been piped and rejetted. Stage I is for bottom end and stage II is for top end.
I went with a stage II in my 450 and love.
It depends where you want the power.
You can pick them up on Ebay.
