400ex vs. Z400
I pick the EX for tight, semi-technical trails. It has an engine that doesn't mind being lugged down. You put it in 1st and just idle through a nasty section. I pick the Z for everything else.

400ex vs. Z400
The EX is the better all around quad. It has more low end plus will match the Z in the top as well. People who say different read too many magazines.
