Diff question For Rancher and Rubi
#2
Well, That was a question that I was wandering also, so I decided to test it just to see. Me on my Rancher 4x4ES and a friend of mine who rides a Honda 300 4x4 went out to a mud pit and saw that the 3004x4 was basically just a 4x3 and that all four tires on the Rancher were turning even when one of them was in the air. The new differential may not be "TRUE 4 WHEEL DRIVE" but its pretty close and its still a pretty darn good setup.

a couple of time i have noticed my quad in the "three wheel motion" thing. All you have to do is work the handle bars back and fourth or lightly squeeze the front brake. The differintial does work much better then the conventional limited slip.

There have been multiple threads on this forum about the sure trac front differential wheter or not it works.
All I can say it works as advertised. I was skeptical at first but after a few of my own test, the Rancher passed with flying colors.

One thing to note here is that it is NOT a locker. Honda never actually states that it is a locker. People jump all over this like a dog on a three leged cat saying it is junk and does not work. But it does work. More importantly it works much better than the traditional limited slip that Honda makes.

It does indeed work much better than the conventional limited slips. I can't wait to try the Rubicon out in winter. It seems that at times one front wheel will spin and the other not, and if you just turn the handlebars it will lock them and they'll both dig. I experienced this two days ago coming out of a mudhole.
