why did you choose honda?

Muddy4life, I understand you getting bored with your Rincon. But isn't that inevitable with anything you purchase? I will guarantee you that you will be bored to death with your King Quad in a few years also. Especially when all the manufacturers including Suzuki have newer better big bore 4x4's outdating the King quad.
I actually agree with what desertviper posted. I think that getting the most bang for the buck is just the American way. rooster990

ATVTECH,
yah, your right about that.I meant to say that belts cost pennies to repair in comparison of what it would cost to repair or replace a tranny.Dont get me wrong,I'd take a fluid type tranny ANYDAY over a belt drive ATV,IF we could get Honda to add another gear to their Tranny. The Rincon tranny is OK,but even it has to 'search' for the right gear many times..And the Rinny's low end is not even close when you compare it to that of a similier CC belt drive ATV.
I wont be buying a Suzuki belt from the manufacture.Even with my employee discount,it would still cost me about 80 bucks. They are selling aftermarket KQ belts fo about 35 bucks.

Worked for a roofing company for 9 years that uses ATV's to automate the roofing replacement process on the auto plants. They have around 20 Honda 300 2wd and 3 300 fwd. These bikes are started in the mornings around 4 or 5 am. and for the most part run all day long never leaving 2nd gear, so there is little to no air cooling going on. They haul loads up to and sometimes over 1200 lbs. in trailers up steep ramps from one level to another in one of the dirtiest enviroments around all day long. When it's 90 degrees on the ground it's around 110+ on the roof. They are stored outside year around and ridin by people who really love to abuse them. In this time there has been one axle broken. about three bent swingarms from sheering off roof top penatrations lol some bad batteries, a couple broken brake cables and and a lot of holes in tires. Never had any internal engine problems. That's why I own a Honda.

Hey, I thought this thread was titled "why did you choose a Honda?" Not "I didn't choose a Honda and hear's why!"
Why don't all you Honda bashers go back over to your Yamaha or Polaris threads and bash away so we don't have to read your BS.

He asked why someone bought a Honda, not why they didn't, the only time you write something in this forum is to trash talk Honda. Employee discount for a belt, who is brand loyal making false accusations? Where's my false accusation in this thread? Lame reverse fix for the KQ? Belts are less efficient than manual or hydro? Belts will wear out. Bushings, pins, springs, and rollers will need periodic replacement for proper clutch engagement. Suzuki will make more off belt replacement and clutch rebuilding than Honda makes off of replacement transmissions.
Every time I read something you write I chuckle as I think you messed up where you put the Ms and Ds in your nickname
I bought a Honda because I know its smart money. As a package it is competetive with anything (for the size machine I was interested in). And I've owned at least one of every (major) brand out there and looked at everything as I am not brand loyal (partial to Honda and Yamaha, but almost bought a Vinson this time). Pros and cons for each, but I don't go to other mfgs forums and point out what I don't like about them to justify my purchase or sell another brand because I work for a dealer/manufacturer.

What a freaking CRY baby!
I never said a damn thing to BASH Honda in any part of this topic nor did I say anything to trash Honda either..
Some folks like YOU are just SO sensitive to anything they might hear about a Honda that could be less than perfect and confuse it as trash talk or bashing?. And since your having a difficult time understanding or telling the difference, maybe that does make you an idiot.
I have every right to say anything I want about Honda,I OWNED them.I also have a right to an employee discount..Know WHY?
Because I CAN!
If you enjoy your Honda, thats ALL that counts. But leave the others alone that dont share YOUR exact opinion of the same.

OK-OK-OK,
I'll tell you what you WANT to hear.
The Honda Rubicon and ALL its family members are the best of the best..They have the best drum style brakes in the entire world, they'll stop you on a dime and give you five cents change.
The rubber drum seals they use on a Honda are SO leak proof, that the biggest selling condom companies, along with Richard Nixon, put their trusts in the same EXACT type of rubber to manufacture condoms with.If the honda rubber brake drum seals can keep out the worst mud/water their ATVs can find, than there is no reason the same materail cant take care of big Dick.
They have the best low end of any ATV in the Industry. When you buy a Honda, there is NO NEED to buy a tractor for the Construction Company, because the Honda 4x4 does the work of a 200k bulldozer.
Honda has the BEST suspension of any ATV known to mankind..Even the 1990 Honda Foreman has a suspension that resembles the MOTO 4 from Yamaha[remember those?] but YET STILL gives the ride of a Cadillac Seville.
Honda does'nt beleive in putting a front locking differantial on any of their quads because the stock tires on their 4x4s are SO superiour to anything on the market, that their tires make-up for the lockable front end with superiour traction offered by NOBODY in the industry.
Honda's dont need extra ground clearance either.Their quads are so darn fast that they just 'skim' over any obstacle that even thinks of coming onto the same path of travel as their ATVs.
And last but not least, you should buy a Honda because it says HONDA on it.
And EVERYBODY knows that a HONDA is the best thing since the invention of the Bikini!
