Changing CV boots?

Default Changing CV boots?

What tools do I need to change the CV boots? My friend has a Rincon and is having problems. any help or info would be helpful.

I could go into detail if you specify front or rear CV boots. It takes different tools to remove front and rear knuckle mounting bolts.
Other than that, a Snap ring plier, and a small screwdriver to disassemble the axle. I can tell you a trick, when reinstalling the axles. Make sure the C-clip openings on the end of the axle splines is facing up, when you slip the axles into the diffy. ( keeps the ends seated in the groove, and they will click in easily when the axle is tapped on the end to install them.

Thankx for the trick. Gimpster. I found out on Honda's you don't need a crimping tool. You just need to hammer the C-clip over and pound it down.

Yep, the bands are reusable if a person is carefull taking them apart.
