Default HRC Power up-and disappointment.

I just got back from the first trip out with the HRC power up kit on the '05 TRX450R.
I'm a bit disappointed. It just doesn't seem to pull any harder than stock.
Has anyone else been less than impressed with theirs?

Mine(wife) requires a fully setup motorhome or Toy Box before she'll go out there again. She has no problem with me going and roughing it with the kids. lol

Did you install the HRC Kit yourself, or did you have a bike mechanic do it?

It must have not been installed right because mine really woke up to life when it was installed. It was well worth the 300 dollars.

I did it myself. Took just under 4 hours and that was going SLOW to double and triple check EVERYTHING. I'm no bike tech, but I am a certified GM master tech.......if that counts for anything.
And it walked all over a piped/uni air/jetted 660 raptor all day long. It just does not have the pop I thought it would.
Any thoughts?
Are you thinking I may have overlooked something or made an error during install? Something common you are aware of?
I'll take anything you've got. I'm not above error. I'll take it apart and do it again if that's waht it takes.
I put in everything EXCEPT the mud guard. I ride in CA and I avoid mud.

If you were looking for a big "hit" in the powerband, it just isn't there. The Honda makes SMOOTH power! After I put on my FMF exhaust, I now have a slight hit in the middle, but nothing like the YFZ. Bikes that have a hit, give the IMPRESSION of big power, but I think you will find that your Honda has a top speed as high as anything out there.

I was not so worried about top speed. I was looking for a "pop".
It almost seems like the quad was peakier with the stock cam. I had heard that the HRC cam would kill some low end, but it actually feels like the power band is wider now.
I'm looking in to a pipe to let this thing breath. Hopefully it will bring me some of that peak I'm looking for. What I specifically wanted was to reach the top of 3rd gear going up Oldsmobile in Glamis. I even dropped the front sproket to a 13t. Maybe if I weighed 170 instead of 230 I'd be able to do it. I've got a big ****.

How are you liking it with the 13t? Doesn't make it wheelie to easy, does it?
