Me again fellas,

A couple months back someone posted a part number for Wix oil filters for the Honda Rancher. I have used the search function and can't seem to find the post. I hate that search thing.

Also, I'm due ofr a oil differental change. What kinda differintial oil do you guys run in your rancher. I know not to use synthetic but other than that i'm in the dark. Also in a couple threads you guys recommended putting a additive for limited slip differentials in the oil. What is that? I glanced through the oil shelf at a local parts store and didn't see anything like that. Can you guys help me a little bit?
thanx

24944 at NAPA.

I went to the search engine and did a search in the Honda posts. I used "wix" for the search criteria.

Is that what you run in your 400? I purchase a napa gold filter for mine ~$10.... it doesn't have the relief valve in the back like the Honda filters do..... so I bought a couple of oem Honda filters.. they appear to be higher quality and they are only $7 each.

I don't think the relief valve is a big deal, if you run it without changing the oil so long the filter plugs up, then you deserve what you get.. but the Honda filters just seem to be of a higher quality material than the napa filters.

you don't have a limited slip on the rancher its a cam type diff a whole new system so you don't need the additive for limited slip. any hypoid 75-90wt
will work.

also Fram sell's oil filters that will fit the rancher. just look for and use the same one for the 450 and the added bonus is you get a new "O" ring seal for the cover plate with it

thanx madmax. i knew it was a new setup but didn't realize it was a completely new design. know that i thik of that it makes sense. I got the Fram part number from a previous thread. For some reason the "search" function was fouling up on me this afternoon. That new o-ring coming with the filter is nice. My local rapist (dealer) charged me five bucks for that little peice of rubber....

thanxs again for the headsup!
