my dealer sent me a swingarm kt for my 86 250r. the package said it is for an 88-89 250r, my dealer said it would work so before i rip the quad apart can i get some advise about it.

 

The swing arm for the 86-87 is different than a 88-89. If you still have a 86 steel swingarm you will need the kit for the 86-87. That kit should have the 2 innner sleeves that are each about 3 or 4 in long. The 88-89 has one long inner sleeve that is about 10 in long. Make sure that you have the coorct kit for your swingarm. It sounds like you have the wrong one.
