Default 250r or 400ex

I want to get a new quad this summer. I never had a 2 stroke, but i am very interested in them plus i love the sound! I want to spend under 3k. I am contiplating getting a 250r or another 400ex. I had a 2000 400ex a few years ago and i loved it. I am just not sure on what to get??? Please help decide.

every one acts like the 2 strokes are so high maintance. thier not really. as long as you just keep up the maintance like change oil mix your gas right
thats really about it. rebuild about every 1 year. i mean yeah thats a little more then 4 strokes but hey for tral ridin i would go with the 400ex

Trails and woods is all I ride, I wouldnt trade my 250R's for any thumper ! The 2-stroke is cheap and easy to maintain.

I do like the handling of my 88 over the 86 in the woods, front end comes up easier, funner to ride.

If you like the power hit and the noise and dont mind getting greasy fingers, try the 250R, cant loose.

For trials the 400ex would be a better choice, the 400 has great power and you can always mod it to make it faster. The 250r is a great quad as well, but it's better for the dunes and stuff cuz it has the screaming top end power. But i would try something different if i were you, anyways im sure you'll just love the 250r it's a classic quad!

it really comes down to wether u want a 2 or 4 stroke bike....i mean reliability shouldn't be much of an issue other than rebuilding it once a year....i would go for the 400 if you ride trails although a 250r will go through the trails not quite like a 400 though...
