I havent had trouble with the rear brake yet, but I do have to remove the front drums and clean the brakes and re-adjust them about every 3 or 4 weeks it seems. I play in the mud a lot and it works its way through the seals and like you said, the brakes become useless. I dont know why it hasnt managed to get into the rear on my Foreman yet. The last time I cleaned the front ones I coated the rubber seals around the lug studs with rubber silicone and they havent gotten water in them since. Thats been about 4 weeks now. Let us know if you find out where its getting in your brakes from.

Yes, the Brake panel seal can get ruined by something wrapping its self around the hub, like bailer twine, barb wire, vines etc...
A good point LittleBill brought up during our PM's was the fact there is a drain bolt on the back side of the brake backing plate, that should be removed to check for moisture. If a lot of water is noticed after removing the drain bolt, the brake panel seal is normally the problem. If caught soon enough it will save a lot of rear brake headache...

Yeah I wanted the 05RancherS 2x4 but then I decided that if I were to get the 2x4 model I would just be wishing I had 4x4!
I then decided to get the 05 RancherES4x4 cause I can get a WARN 424 unlocker!
