My son owns a 2002 honda 400ex and this past weekend we did not race but we clocked our quads,,i own a 1999 banshee ( i know bad word here), His top speed on a gps was 63.5 mph and he has pipes and is jetted,, my banshee is stock and ran at 71.6 mph,,does this seem correct or is my gps way off the marks?? I will also note that he did go down a tooth in the front sprocket so i know his top end will be slower than stock sprocket

I think everyone is missing the question,,my son has a 2002 honda 400ex and I just want to know if what my gps clocked it at is correct,,my 1999 stock Banshee was clocked at 71.6 mph and his piped and jetted 400ex was clocked at like 63.5,,does this sound about right or no?? he also went down a tooth on his front sprocket

It's probably right, but there is to many variables to tell you if your gps is right. Now your throwing in a different size sprocket, that changes everything. It could also be jetted wrong.

since you used the same GPS it is safe to determine that the banshee tops out considerably higher then the 400ex, GPS is one of the most accurate ways to clock top speed. The gear down definatly contributided to the lower top speed. Oh, and for the person who said they were a police officer, if they were i would hope they could spell police.
