How will a 400ex compare to a 125 (kawasaki 00 model)
Just about all my friends ride dirtbikes, and as of right now I have a 99 Blaster that I am selling to get a 01 400EX, so I was just wondering how it would hold up to a 125 in a drag race/trails/rocky terrain/etc.
The other bikes are a 250, and a 500 (heh, no chance there).
Thanks

(Now if this stinkin blaster will sell I can get the EX!)

If your friend is riding a KX125, he'll kill you in a race, and you won't have the suspension to keep up with him on the rough stuff either. If he really knows how to ride. But if he doesn't then you'll kill him.

Heh, he cant ride worth a flip, this is his first dirtbike, but he is learning pretty well.
I could hang with him on my blaster (not beat, just hang behind him).

I can easly beat a 125... As for a CR250... I get the CR on the jump but as soon as he hit 4th gear he gets by me...

The 400 EX is notoriously slow. Save a little more and go for the Raptor, at least you'll give your buddies a little run for their money.

Im not really impressed with the Raptor, not to big on first year quads.
My choices are limited due to other financial situations, (have to sell the blaster first) either a 400ex, or a warrior or maybe a 300ex, but the 400ex is faster than the 300ex and warrior, and its a step up from my blaster.

father:
Notoriously slow?
only compared to banshee, DS and raptor. a pretty good contender considering handling.

a heck of alot faster than your polaris!

Dirtwheels even said that the 400ex had a better top speed than then scrambler 500!! CAN YOU SAY PATHETIC!

in that case, get the 400ex....the motor is made awesome, the rest of the bike is poor craftsmanship, so its not going to be very reliable, i know, cause i have one...but its better than all those others you mentioned

That's funny, the only problem I've had with my 400ex is a bent upper A-arm (which was my own stupid fault). What specific experiences have you had with YOUR 400ex to make you say it has poor craftsmanship, and is unreliable? The fact that you say that makes me think you are full of it, but I'm giving you the chance to prove yourself.
