Default Another 250x question

whats up everyone. Ive searched this forum and couldnt find an answer to the problem Im having. Ive had my 91 250x since it was new in 91, and this is the first problem I have had with it. The bike cuts out like its rich on the main. I leaned the needle and the bike ran great for a day. But today it was raining and colder and it is cutting out again. Its probably the denser colder air, but why. I never had to change any carb settings before and the quad was driven all year long. The thing I cant understand is after I got it running good, it was idling to fast so I dropped the idle speed back to normal, and it starting cutting out again. It will only run good if the idle is a bit high. I dont understand this.

I have cleaned the carb 3 times now, checked float valve, seat, float, jets, everything. new plug, air filter, oil, oil filter, and the whole quad was checked over following the repair manual. It starts up with 1 or 2 kicks and the quad is completly stock also. Sometimes there is a small amount of gas that will come out of the overflow tube, but not much and not very often.

Tomorrow Im going to recheck syncronization of the throttle valve, float height, and play around with the idle and pilot. I tried just getting a whole new carb but honda wants 350. I dont know Im running out of ideas please help me out.

Thanks
Jared

Maybe it is not the carb. How does the spark plug wire look? Any chance it could be losing spark? A bad plug wire will act up in damp weather.

You could buy a aftermarket carb for way less then that. Mybe its a eletriacal problem or intake.
