Slower 300 EX?
Hey yall my friend has a 02 300 ex. When he got it it would smoke my rancher beast. LOL. But now my rancher has a higher top speed and gets there quicker. This rancher is an 05 4wd. Now we are both real good ryders. His ex has a white broes e series pipe k&n air filter 15 38 gearing and 22 inch mudlites. This bike has tons of power for a 300. It can power wheelie in almost any gear. His bone stock red 300 ex will anialite his modded one. I know, no two bikes are the same but come on, this thing gets slower every time he rides it. It runs great and doesn't smoke or anything like that. It has gotten so slow that my old 93 300 bayou 4x4 will outrun it. But it still runs like new. We already check at a dealer they adjusted the fuel mixture and it didn't seem to help. Can any help him out?

Slower 300 EX?
Just a thought since it happened to me recently. Check the chain. Besides the usual binding i found that some of my rollers mushroomed themselves. this caused more of them to do the same and i kept losing top speed until i noticed and replaced the chain.
Other posibilities are bad rear axle bearings, bad front wheel beearings or anything else that would cause drag in the drive line. How easily does it roll in nuetral?
If the engine still runs strong and sounds good i would doubt it has anything to do with engine problems, but perhaps the clutch could be slipping very badly.
