I am trying to swap out my 250R two stroker to a thumper. Does anyone know if there is a company that provides parts for this conversion? and if so can I please have some contact info or a web address. I am trying to go CRF450. If anyone has any expierence, I would appreciate the advice as this will be my first conversion and I am looking forward to all the problems and mishaps that I will encounter.

If you don't have an aftermarket frame, I doubt the switch would be worth it. I'm thinking you could sell your R and buy a 450 and be out the same amount of money you would be doing the swap.

Honda makes a frame and engine....it's called the TRX450R!!!

If you are just looking for a project, then have fun. If you want to ride instead of spend your life wrenching, forget it and get yourself a 450R....

If I wanted a project and I had a 250R frame sitting around, I would drop the new fuel injected CRF250F engine in it, have my son race the 250 class and make all those Raptor 250's eat dust.

 

Don't put a 4-stroke in it because of the weight. Stick with 2-stroke power! My 82' 250R keeps up with my wifes ltr450.

 

the 250R motor can be turned into a 450 eater if u get a sick cylinder etc...
