I have a 400 at/es rancher the electric shift light is flashing and it is stuck in high gear and wont shift in either es or at modes Where do I start ???? When it is in reverse it cuts out and wont back up also. It will back up if you disconnect the shift indicator wire at the transmission. Have you tried to rock the bike back and forth to see if it will find its gear? There is a sensor on the rear of the engine that usually goes bad causing this problem. I had the same problem with my rancher. Replaced the sensor and the problem went away. Let me know if this helps you!
