You can get a better cam from Web. It will cost between 4 and 5 times more, though. With the big web cams you need hardened rockers, and shortened guides. Thats comes out to about 450, with the cam.

I think the aggressive Mega and Web cams are the best performers but the drop in Hot Cams represent a good compromise between price and performance. The Hot Cam stage 2(or 3 as they are now calling it) is a great top end cam and coupled with a big bore high compression piston, full exhaust and aftermarket CDI gives a great performance gain. If you want to take it a bit further you could then go with a FCR, Edelbrock or 450R carb. Here are some specs(lift and duration) on the different 400EX cams:

Lift Duration@.050"Lift Intake Exhaust Intake Exhaust

stock 400EX cam .316 .302 234 238
XR400 .326 .321 240 244
WB All Around .345 .335 240 248
HRC .350 .339 254 256
GT Thunder .350 .345 256 256
WB Track .350 .345 256 256
WEB 450/451 .350 .345 256 256
WEB 479 .378 .378 250 250
web 463/9i .385 .370 272 270
HOT/stg1 .354 .354 244 244
HOT/stg3 .346 .346 254 254
mega X2 .378 .378 254 254 @.040

the 450 carb should help, mainly in throttle response. i would get a cam and piston first.
