I don't know why Yamaha insists on making their machines so narrow. Take a good look a the rear of the Raptor. My kids 90 is wider than that! Plus, that motor is kind of tall and high in the frame. I would have to spend thousands to widen the Raptor, so it doesn't make any sense to me.

The R is great for more open country, and fast open trails. If you ride really tight trails, it will need a gearing change. If you mostly ride trails that are at all technical, get the Z400 or 400EX.

 

I have a 660raptor and i raced my buddy today and he beat me by about 5 feet after about 500 feet.
