Hey turd04,
The best thing to do when the polaris and yamaha people start to bad-mouth our machines is to ignore their sophomoric remarks. They're having a good time getting us to flame them. If we will just treat them as the non-entities that they are, they will eventually go away. It's like when you were a kid and you were afraid of ghosts, then your parents convinced you that there was no such thing. They went away.
I can tell about how fast my R is, but the flames will not stop, nor will his personal attacks. Stay above their level. I have participated in it before and I finally got angry at myself for falling for it. I now choose not to respond as they are the ghosts of my childhood.

For one thing, you know nothing about Polaris'. For another thing, I have never had one thing go wrong with my bike. The cost of my bike, and all of its mods, I'm still under the price of an EX.

On another note, the Polaris is not touted as a high performance machine, as the EX is, which is pretty much a joke, calling the EX a high performance machine. The Polaris is referred to as a trail machine. And it's pretty sad when you can sink a couple bucks into a trail machine, and wipe up a high performance machine with it.

true... alot of people do call the 400 a high performance machine, however i think that it is more sport, and for playing around on the track. I don't think that honda feels that it is a high performance machine. only compared to all the honda atv's offered.
However, it is fast, and with a couple bucks, any quad can be made faster...

PS: in another post titled "rapter vs 400ex ATV aticon review" I said that it is a 260cc difference, and you said thast there are not many high performance quads out there.... so you change your stroy for this post??

I think you in here just to **** off people, and create trouble. get a life dude.

well to be honest, for a pretty penny you can convert the 400ex into a 650 or larger. My local shop has raced honda dirtbikes for a lifetime, honda used the engine off of the 600 or 650 dirtbike I think on the 400ex, he said if I bought an ex he could help me to get the top end off of one of the dirtbikes and put it on the ex making it a 650 that could still be bored even more and still have performance mods added to it. It might be something to check into guys!

Quadfather: With all the mods you claim to have on your quad, which you say put out 52 horsepower, I highly doubt it costs less than a 400ex. But, I'm not here to argue about brand loyalty. I have a 400ex, and I intend to keep it. Have fun with what you have.

I didn't know that a pathetic underpowered quad could jump 50ft doubles and get 15 height. Underpowered, how about a 350cc that weighs 400lbs with only 18hp, now thats pathetic. 26-28hp is considered high performance because of the suspension it sits on, when you can smash through woops and jump like Jordan you can take on a quad with more hp.

i have riden moded polaris 400's and i was impressed with teh power, but with the 400ex (which i also have put many hours on) isnt that much slower and handles much better. you feel mor in controll on the ex and take the same trails faster. now dont call me biased against honda, look at my signature. i used to think honda was just slow crap with good suspension, and thatn i drove it. quadfather, i challange you to drive a 400ex and than tell me you dont like it.

I was actually considering a 400 EX. I have a couple friends that I ride with regularly with them. To be quite honest, I feel cramped on them. My elbows are right at my knees, and the bike just plain feels too small. I'm used to the bigger feel of my Sport. As for speed and all out power, the EX just can't compare to mine. Anyway, I don't have an EX to borrow anymore, they've all traded them for Raptors.

Dirt bikes are liked more by manufacturers because of all the motocross racing. I have never once seen an ATV motocross race on the television, but dirt bikes are on almost every week. AMA motocross rules also have a factory bike rule, that race bikes must use factory bikes and parts. I know of no such rule in ATV racing (is the KXF-250 REALLY a Mojave?). Factories put more into motorcycles because they want their racers to do better so people buy their products.
