i have a 92 honda 250x and when i hit 3 and up in gear, when i get to about lil more then half trottle it starts to sputter and spat or just breaking up. but when i shift to another gear it fine till half trottle. any ideas id love 'em thanks

 

try takeing off your airbox lid and see if it acts the same

 

i have that off same with the air box

 

The first answer always seems to be clean the carb. This really seems like the case here. Sounds like a clogged jet.

Sounds to me like its too lean.
If you put the lid back on, it should get better. If you want to leave the lid off, then youre gonna need to get a bigger main jet.
